Staffy Health is an on demand platform that connects healthcare professionals with healthcare facilities that need extra staff. You browse open shifts in the app and choose the ones that fit your schedule. It gives you flexibility to work when and where you want instead of committing to a single employer.

Staffy operates across multiple provinces in Canada and selected regions in the U.S. The app shows you shifts based on your location and the distance filters you set. As we expand, new regions appear automatically in your available shift list.

You can apply for roles such as RN, RPN/LPN, PSW, care aide, dietary aide, housekeeping and other healthcare support positions along with positions in hospitality such as dishwasher, server and chef. The roles you see depend on your licence, experience and documents. Once you are approved for a role, any matching shifts in your radius will appear in the app.

There is no signup or monthly fee to use Staffy. A 3% platform fee is deducted from the gross amount of each shift you complete to cover support, compliance and payment processing. The remaining 97% of the shift amount is paid out to you.

Each shift generates an invoice that becomes payable 10 days after the shift date. Once it reaches the 10 day mark, the funds appear in your Payment Centre and you can trigger a payout. If you use Instant Pay, you can request one early payment in a rolling 7 day period, with all other payments following the 10 day policy.

After clocking in and out for your shift, you’ll be eligible for instant payment. Instant payment can be initiated once every 7 days. For example: Let’s say you initiate instant payment on: Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 3:00 PM Toronto time The next time you can initiate instant payment is on: Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 3:00 PM Toronto time

The Payment Centre is the section of the app where you see all your payable and upcoming invoices. When an invoice reaches its payment date, you can move those funds from the Payment Centre to your bank. It gives you a clear view of what you've earned and when it will be available.

The 3% platform fee helps fund 24/7 support, credential compliance, insurance, and secure payment processing. It also covers the technology that lets you find shifts, clock in and get paid in a structured way. The fee is applied only to completed shifts and is shown in your payment breakdown.

Yes. You are treated as an independent contractor using the platform, so you are responsible for setting aside and reporting your own taxes. Staffy provides records of your payments and invoices, which you can download at tax time or share with an accountant.

Yes. You can view a list of your completed shifts, amounts, and payouts in the Payment Centre area of the app. This lets you track how much you've earned and verify that all shifts have been paid. You can also export or screenshot this information for your own records.

You will typically need your professional licence or certificate, a recent Vulnerable Sector Police Check, immunization and TB records, a valid CPR/BLS card, government issued photo ID & eligibility, N95 certificate, a resume highlighting your professional experiences and three professional references. All documents are uploaded through the app for the compliance team to review. Having everything ready speeds up your approval. Once you upload a document send a message to our team for review.

Onboarding usually takes between 2 to 5 business days once all your documents are uploaded. Delays most often happen when references are slow to respond or a document is missing or expired. You'll receive notifications in the app if anything else is required.

Some partner facilities require a Staffy photo ID badge for security. After your profile is fully approved you can export your badge by visiting “Edit Profile” and selecting “Download Physical Badge.” Please print it at TPH or a similar service, and ensure it’s laminated or printed on plastic for durability. Keep in mind that printing costs are your responsibility, and shift availability isn't guaranteed. Afterward, kindly send us a photo of the physical badge along with the receipt.

Yes. There is no exclusivity requirement on the platform. You can keep a regular job, use other apps, or work with agencies while also using Staffy, as long as you manage your own schedule and avoid double booking yourself.

Open the app, go to Available Shifts, and use filters for role, distance and dates. Tap a shift to see the details, then tap Apply if it works for you. If the facility selects you, you'll receive a confirmation in the app and by email.

When you arrive on site, open your confirmed shift and tap Clock In only on the Staffy app at your start time. At the end of your shift, tap Clock Out and record any unpaid breaks accurately. These times are what the facility and Staffy use to approve and pay your hours. If you forget to clock in or out, we will need to manually update your hours. Normal processing for payment is 10 days after your hours have been confirmed. For manual updates, we’ll need either a signed timesheet or an email confirmation from your supervisor sent to [email protected]. Please note, there’s a $20 fee for manually updating missed clock-ins or clock-outs.

If you cancel more than 48 hours before the start time, there is no monetary fee, though frequent cancellations can impact your rating. Cancelling within 48 hours may result in a $150 fee unless there is a documented emergency, such as illness. Always contact support as soon as you know you can't attend.

If you are unwell, do not attend the shift. Contact Staffy support immediately so they can inform the facility and try to find a replacement. You may be asked for proof, such as a doctor's note or positive test, to waive any late cancellation fee.

Yes. You control which shifts you apply for and you can set distance filters in the app to limit how far you are willing to travel. You are never required to accept a shift and there are no minimum hours you must work.

Facilities can rate your performance after each shift. A strong rating is based on punctuality, professionalism and reliability, and helps you stand out when you apply for work. Repeated no shows or late cancellations can lower your rating and may lead to temporary suspension.

Yes. Staffy's operations and support teams monitor the platform around the clock. If you have a problem before, during, or after a shift, you can reach out at any time and someone will respond. This includes weekends and overnight shifts.

The fastest way is through the in app chat, where you can describe the issue and attach screenshots if needed. You can also email support if you prefer. For urgent problems during a shift, you can request a callback so a coordinator can speak with you directly.

Yes. You can invite colleagues to join Staffy using your referral link in the app. When a referred worker completes the required number of shifts within the stated timeframe, you receive a cash bonus. The exact bonus and conditions are shown in the referral section.

Go to the Wallet or Payment section of the app and edit your banking or e-transfer details. New details apply to future payouts once saved. Make sure the information is accurate so payments are not delayed or rejected.

There is no commitment or fees to register for the Staffy platform. It's pay-as-you-go. Simply use the platform as needed and we'll charge you for the hours worked and logged

Staffy has a rigorous, 15 step on-boarding process.
We review resumes, certifications and all credentials to ensure the commensurate experience exists for the role(s) each contractor wishes to fill. We also complete reference and background checks. Once onboarded, our real time reviews ensure that workers are meeting and exceeding expectations. If someone isn't making the grade, we remove them from our system.

You set the rate for the position you are posting. The Staffy app will show you what the current standard rate is based on market trends, location and position. Our model is fully transparent - contractors agree to the rate up-front and are paid 100% of that posted rate. Staffy collects a modest service fee which varies according to method of payment.

Quite easily! In our app, navigate to “Hire a Staffy” to set a “New Broadcast”. Monitor the status under “Requests”. You’ll also receive notification when there’s any activity so you can review applicants. As soon as a suitable candidate appears, book quickly before their schedule changes!

Our hourly rate is the contractor's chosen rate + Staffy's service fee. Contractors choose their rate based on labour market trends and demands. Staffy's service fees vary according to method of payment.

Provided you're cancelling the shift more than 48 hours in advance, you can cancel on the Staffy app and will not incur a fee. If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, we do charge a three-hour cancellation fee, which is paid directly to the contractor as compensation for clearing their schedule. To cancel under short notice (less than 48 hours) we ask that you contact the Staffy support team at [email protected].

If you like a particular worker you can add that worker to your ‘team’, and they will be contacted automatically whenever you post a shift that they are qualified and available for.
